This service provides an influenza vaccine that can help you avoid getting influenza and its complications. Influenza is a viral infection that can affect your health. You can get the vaccine from us without a doctor’s prescription. The vaccine can protect you from influenza for adults and children who are at risk.
We have two options for the flu shot: the NHS flu jab* and the Zafash flu jab service, which is a private medical service. You just need to fill out a flu jab questionnaire with your Zafash pharmacists and they can give you the shot at the pharmacy, if it is safe for you.
Please do not come to the pharmacy for any reason if you or someone you live with have COVID-19 symptoms or are waiting for a COVID-19 test result or have tested positive for the virus. The symptoms may include a fever, a cough, trouble breathing or loss or change of smell or taste. If you have a flu vaccination booked, please contact the pharmacy to reschedule your appointment.
Our flu jab service is for customers aged 18 and over and in good health. We also offer the NHS flu jab service to customers over 18 who are eligible. Please see below to check if you can get the free flu jab on the NHS.
Anyone who is over 18 and in good health can book the standard flu jab. To get the NHS flu vaccination, you must meet these criteria:
This also depends on whether we have a trained vaccinator available on the day of vaccination.

Zafash Private £20 Flu Jab
Flu is an infection caused by the Influenza Virus. It can be serious for some people and may require hospitalisation.
The flu vaccine helps to protect you and those around you from getting flu. It also helps to reduce the pressure on the health system. By getting your Flu jab with Zafash Pharmacy, you lower the chance that you or those around you will get the disease. If you do get it, the symptoms will be milder and less likely to cause complications.
Please check the following criteria and if any of them apply to you, click back and choose the appropriate NHS Flu jab option. If none of them apply, click next to book your Private Flu jab:
The vaccine is administered in the deltoid muscle (upper arm) so please wear clothing that allows easy access to your arm. We offer our vaccinations in our consultation room for your privacy.
To provide this service, we need to verify if you qualify for it. Please check the eligibility criteria below:
If you will be, go back and choose the free NHS Over 65 Flu Service tile.
If you are, go back and choose the NHS under 65 Flu Service tile.
Please be aware that if you are sick and have a fever when you come to your appointment, you might have to reschedule your vaccination until you recover. This will depend on the Pharmacist who gives the vaccine.
The vaccine is the most effective way to prevent the flu virus. It does not guarantee that you will never get sick, but it can reduce the severity of your symptoms if you do. The vaccine is updated every year to match the circulating strains of the virus, so you need to get a new jab each year before the winter season.
You should aim to get the flu vaccine between early October and late November, before the flu season starts. However, if you miss this window, you can still get the vaccine later in the winter.
Serious side effects from the flu vaccine are very rare. You may experience some mild fever and muscle aches for a few days after the jab, but this is normal and not a sign of infection. If you have any concerns, you can talk to our pharmacists for advice.
To protect yourself from the flu, it is advisable to get vaccinated before the flu season starts, which is usually from October to November. However, if you missed this window, you can still get your vaccine anytime afterwards.
